Question 1

How does TanLog insulate tanning salons against £20,000 statutory fines?

Accepted Answer

Under the UK General Product Safety Regulations 2005 and Sunbeds Regulation Act 2010, local Environmental Health Officers (EHO) and Trading Standards can levy fines up to £20,000 or issue immediate suspension notices if sunbeds exceed the 0.30 W/m² irradiance threshold or lack verifiable hygiene and electrical maintenance records. TanLog maintains tamper-proof digital signature logs, automated tube hour tracking, and one-click PDF audit dossiers ready for visiting inspectors.

Question 2

Why do standard alcohol sanitizers damage sunbed acrylic panels?

Accepted Answer

Commercial sunbed panels are made from optical PMMA acrylics. Solvents and alcohol cause rapid micro-crazing and optical hazing, costing £400 to £900 per replacement panel. TanLog enforces the use of approved, alcohol-free quaternary ammonium formulations with timed contact-delay intervals to protect acrylics and preserve manufacturer warranties.

Question 3

Which commercial sunbed OEM error codes and machines does TanLog diagnose for field service engineers?

Accepted Answer

TanLog includes a built-in OEM diagnostic database for independent sunbed engineers and salon operators covering Ergoline (Prestige Lightvision, Spectra, Bluevision, 1600, 1400, Excellence, Affinity — codes E001–E016, E040, E041, E050, E126, #0100, #0101), KBL megaSun (P9S, K11 Air, 8000 alpha Hybrid, 7900 alpha, 6800 — codes Abluft/Windschalter, Aqua Low/Aqua 0%, E01:BUS:ABL, E02:BUS:TMP, E04:BUS:VOICE, E05:BUS:REL, Error 26), Hapro Luxura (Vegaz 9200/8200, Jewel, X10, V8 — codes E0, E1, E2), Ultrasun (i8, i9, Q18, Q14 — IQ Touch codes E89, E90, E200, E201), Soltron, Tansun (T-FAN-FAIL, T-CHOKE-OVERHEAT), and T-Max timers, raising engineer first-time fix rates from 42% to 88%.

Question 4

Do salon staff need to download an app from the App Store?

Accepted Answer

No. TanLog is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Staff and technicians simply open the website on any smartphone and tap 'Add to Home Screen' to install it instantly. It runs in full screen without app store downloads and works in low-signal plant rooms and basement cabins.

Question 5

What is the 0.30 W/m² UV threshold under BS EN 60335-2-27?

Accepted Answer

British Standard BS EN 60335-2-27 sets a statutory upper limit of 0.30 W/m² for the maximum erythemally weighted UV irradiance emitted by commercial sunbeds, approximating the burn potential of midday Mediterranean summer sun. Operating above this threshold violates Trading Standards regulations.
